A cloud server is centralized server resource that is hosted and delivered over a network, typically the Internet, and accessed on demand by multiple users. Cloud servers can perform all the same functions of a traditional physical server, delivering processing power, storage and applications. Cloud servers can be located anywhere in the world and deliver services remotely through a cloud computing environment. In contrast, traditional dedicated server hardware is typically set up on premises for exclusive use by one organization. Cloud servers possess and exhibit similar capabilities and functionality to a typical server but are accessed remotely from a cloud service provider.
Cloud Servers are often confused with the Cloud VPS, as both are based on virtualization and come with many of the same advantages. Cloud VPS is a fixed segment of the resources of one physical server or cloud. The Cloud Server is based on multiple dedicated servers and you can change the configuration. Cloud VPS hosting will give you dedicated resources and root access unlike Cloud Server which will give you dedicated resources but does not give you root access. Cloud Virtual servers require technical skills to manage, Cloud Hosting doesn’t require technical skills.
